| College Football Ranking - Crucial to a Program | |
|
The more successful college programs strive to be ranked in the top ten of college football. A top college football ranking guarantees a significant bowl appearance by the school, which reaps millions of dollars in revenues from that one bowl appearance. Additionally, bowl games draw national attention. Therefore, the colleges appearing in bowl games have arguably a better chance at attracting highly rated recruits. So, once a team gains recognition, it then becomes a case of reloading quality players each year in order to stay at the top of the college football game. The college football ranking is important to the teams competing in NCAA Division I college football, and a high ranking is what every program desires. Ohio State and Louisiana State are the two top-ranked football teams in the country, and they will compete for the championship on January 7, 2008 in New Orleans. |
